In short, smoking in a car with a child, especially in someone’s presence, can very easily be deadly. We’ve seen plenty of car smoking laws, but this one probably deserves to come in the top five. It works like this. A child in a car is a child in a car. If you dont turn your engine off, you might get a ticket. Also, if you do turn your engine off, you might be risking a ticket and/or a jail sentence, which will probably be a hassle in most places.
The other thing is to have some kind of a party after you’ve been kicked off the vehicle.
In our own small way we can help. As a kid we used to go to the local liquor store, buy alcohol, and then drink it. Or, we would just drink and drive off with our friends. We’ve seen the movie Drive, so it’s probably not all that far-fetched to think that your son could be the same. In the movie, the guy who drives the car dies after drinking the whole bottle and driving off.
That is a terrifying prospect for a lot of people, but it is possible. For example, a woman who has a child in the back seat of her car with her is probably a pretty tough nut to crack.
