I would like to start out by stating that I love Jersey City, New Jersey. It is a very nice city to live in, especially during the summer. In this video, I am showcasing the beautiful city during a date night.
I’ve always felt like I was living next to a hidden gem, the Jersey City Mall (aka the “Mall of Gardens”). It is a unique shopping destination that is a bit out of the way, but it has so much to offer that you can get to within just a few minutes of downtown. In addition to the Mall, there are other great area’s to explore, and the surrounding areas are very well-known for their entertainment.
This video was made for Jersey City, but the rest of my video clips were filmed in New York City. This particular mall has been around for almost a century, and has been the center of activity for nearly all of the local business. The mall has changed a bit over the years, as its once a bustling place that attracted everything from celebrities to rock musicians (thanks to the Beatles fame). But the Mall of Gardens has not, and is still a fantastic place to visit.
The video above is from a recent date night, and I believe it captures one of the best features of that particular mall: it’s the only mall in New York City that has a “date night” on Friday. It’s a tradition that started back in the 1970’s and is still going strong today.
When the mall first opened, it was such a popular destination that it attracted a lot of celebrities who came from all over the world to shop there. But the mall has gone through a few changes over the years, with its main stores having been replaced, and its locations moved, so there are now a lot more stores that have been closing or closing down.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the mall that has been going bankrupt for the past 3 years or so. While the mall itself isn’t that bad, it is the owner of the parking lots and grounds for the mall itself that was the problem.
