The cost of living in Lakewood, Colorado has been very tough over the years. However, it seems that the cost of living has gotten worse. I agree with what the Colorado State University economist, David B. Kocher, said about the state of the Denver metro area, “It’s one of the poorest metro areas in the country.
The problem is that the cost of living is inversely proportional to the amount of income you have. So while a person in Lakewood may be able to afford a nice home, they cannot afford much else in their area. So for a lot of people, buying a new home is the only way to escape to the south shore of the lake, Lakewood. The cost of living here is so high because you can’t find a home in the area that has a mortgage you can afford.
In an effort to help Lakewood homeowners with their mortgage woes, we partnered with MFG to create a mortgage calculator tool that enables people to get an idea of what the cost of living is like for their particular area. The tool will display the median cost of a home in your area based on four different factors: the number of bedrooms, the number of bathrooms, the area of the property, and the average mortgage. Each of these factors is weighted differently, however.
By the way, if you’re looking to buy or sell a home in the Lakewood area, the median home price is the price at which a home would sell in that area, with the highest and lowest possible price shown.
What you see here is the median cost of housing in Lakewood, Ohio. Based on the four factors above, the median home price per square foot is $121.50. This price is $11.00 more than the median cost of $112.50 in nearby Galesburg, Ohio. Which means you can expect to be a little more than $11,000 more in Lakewood than in Galesburg.
This may seem like a small number, and it is, but you should keep in mind that the price per square foot can vary greatly throughout the city. You may also want to consider that the median home price per square foot is about the same.
Lakewood, OH is a pretty big city. While we wouldn’t expect a price per square foot to vary by so much, we still want to give you an idea of what’s out there.
This is due to the fact that we live in a really small town. We have a median home price per square foot of about $100. A median home cost $100,000 in Lakewood last year. In Galesburg, however, the average price per square foot is just $90.
In Lakewood, we live in one of the most expensive areas in the state, which also has the greatest concentration of expensive homes. If it were just the area we live in that had the least expensive average house price per square foot, we would be looking at about 100,000 a year.
That’s a big difference. When the cost of living in a small town is compared to a large city or a larger metro area, it’s a big difference.
