california nonprofit mutual benefit corporation law

A very interesting article in the “California Nonprofit Law Review” (Vol. 2, No. 3 [Spring, 2012]). The author compares the law under California’s nonprofits to the law under the city of New York. The law in the former city is quite different. There the City of New York has created a special class for nonprofit organizations. Under the law the nonprofit organization will receive a special exemption for the property tax exemption.
