Well, I don’t know about you, but seeing where you live can be a fun little exercise in self-reference. There are some places that I like to explore a little further and try to understand what it is that makes them so special.
For example, I may not like the location of a place, but I like the people who live there. I also like the little quirks that make it special. In the same way, I’ll go to a concert and I may not know what the show is about, but I like the people who attend. I’ll go to a park and I may not know the history of the animals that live there, but I like the people who live there.
In a nutshell, this is a place where we have the option of experiencing two different worlds: the world of our normal daily lives and the world of something else entirely. It’s a beautiful thing to be able to experience the two worlds simultaneously. The more I learn about our place of origin, the more I am able to appreciate the many unique and beautiful things about our surroundings. To me, that’s the ultimate gift.
Our location, well, the only one I know is the location of my home town of New Trier, Illinois. I’m not sure if anyone knows what it was that gave me this unique perspective, so I’ll just say that it was a moment that made me question my place of origin. I didn’t know I was in some other dimension, for no apparent reason. I suddenly felt I was surrounded by people who knew me and understood me and cared for me.
Some of us are able to tap into that knowledge and use it to help us better understand ourselves. It might seem counter-intuitive for a normal person, but I have found that being around others who are different from myself can make me a better person. It may also be useful to the person trying to find a new home. By being around others who understand who they are, I found myself questioning whether I had a place to live and if I should move.
I have lived in a lot of places. I’ve spent all my living in a lot of places. I’ve been a foster parent, a homeless person, a single parent, a single working mom with a young son, and an orphan. As many of you know, when I was living in a hotel, I couldn’t even get a job and I was homeless and living with my son at the time. I eventually found a place to live and made it into a nice apartment.
If you’re looking for a place to live, you definitely don’t want to live in an RV. The thing about an RV is that it can carry about a thousand pounds of gear. That can be a real problem in a place with limited space. It can also be a real problem if your home is too small to fit a truck bed and you need to move the bed to another location.
The only reason I was homeless was because I was so broke that I had to move so I could pay for rent and utilities. I never had a job, and I never wanted one. If you don’t have all the necessities, the cost of living goes up.
In the latest issue of American Home, a book written by my friend and colleague Steve Tompkins, we examine the various factors that go into choosing a home in SF.
If you are living in a house that has no closet space, you have a real problem. This is especially true if you are living in a house that is too small to fit a truck bed. You also have a problem if your home doesn’t have enough room to house the contents of the truck bed. In fact, the only thing that will make your home livable is if you have enough space for the contents of the truck bed.
